Ceramic Brooch - Brown Dog

Unique brooch hand made from white clay in the form of a 3D dog's head. Bisque fired and then decorated with underglazes before a second kiln firing. Finished with an application of clear glaze before the 3rd and final firing.

After the brooch back is fitted, I cut and apply a circle of reclaimed felt fixed to the reverse to protect delicate fabrics.

My daughter thinks this brown dog looks like the one from Jim Henson's Storyteller!
