Ceramic Brooch - Fire

With this brooch you can almost feel the warmth of a fiery sun - the layers of yellow and red underglazes almost seem to glow.

Unique brooch hand sculpted in white clay, bisque fired and then decorated with underglazes before a second kiln firing. Finished with an application of clear glaze before the 3rd and final firing.

After the brooch back is fitted, I cut and apply a circle of reclaimed felt fixed to the reverse to protect delicate fabrics.
